Correction and Retraction Policy
INTERACTION: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa is committed to maintaining an accurate and trustworthy scholarly record. Concerns about published articles are assessed fairly, with appropriate opportunities for authors and other relevant parties to respond. Editorial action is guided by the COPE Core Practices and the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
Corrections are issued when an error affects an article’s accuracy or interpretation but does not invalidate its overall findings. Errors may concern data presentation, author information, references, or other substantive details. A correction notice will explain the change and be linked to the original article. Changes affecting the scholarly record will be identified transparently.
Expressions of concern may be issued when serious questions arise about an article’s reliability or ethical conduct but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation remains ongoing. The notice will explain the reason for concern and will be updated when sufficient information becomes available.
Retractions may be issued when findings are unreliable because of major error, fabrication, or falsification; when plagiarism or unjustified duplicate publication is established; when research is unethical; or when a compromised publication process undermines confidence in the article. Retraction is intended to correct the scholarly record rather than punish authors.
Retraction notices will identify the article, state who is retracting it, and explain the reasons clearly. Retracted articles will normally remain accessible, clearly marked as retracted, and linked to the retraction notice. An author’s disagreement does not prevent a retraction when the evidence justifies it.
Removal of published content will be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal requirements, serious privacy violations, or a substantial risk of harm that cannot be addressed through a correction or retraction. Where possible, a notice explaining the removal will remain available.
Authors who discover a significant error must promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate with its assessment. Readers may report concerns through the Contact page, providing the article details and supporting evidence. Authors may request reconsideration of an editorial action by submitting a reasoned explanation and relevant new evidence.
