Conflict of Interest

INTERACTION: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa requires authors, editors, and reviewers to disclose interests or relationships that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, their judgement. Conflicts of interest may be financial or non-financial, including employment, consultancy, funding, personal relationships, academic competition, or close professional collaboration.

Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and identify all sources of research funding. Where applicable, they should explain the funder’s role in study design, data collection, analysis, manuscript preparation, and the decision to submit. If no conflicts exist, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”

Reviewers must inform the editor of any potential conflict before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers should decline assignments where relationships with the authors, institutions, or research could compromise an impartial assessment. If a conflict becomes apparent during review, the reviewer must notify the editor promptly.

Editors must not handle or make decisions on manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including their own submissions or those involving close collaborators or personal relationships. Such manuscripts must be assigned to another qualified editor and undergo the journal’s normal review procedures.

Disclosure does not automatically prevent publication or participation in peer review. The editorial team will assess each situation and take appropriate measures to protect independent judgement. Undisclosed conflicts identified after publication may result in a published declaration, correction, or other action proportionate to their effect on the article’s integrity.

Concerns may be reported through the Contact page. Further information is available in the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
