Formal pesantren education has its own characteristics in shaping the character and spirituality of students. However, in practice, the assessment of PAI learning in this environment is often unable to fully capture the process of internalization of religious values that takes place in students. This study aims to analyze and describe the practice of PAI learning assessment in the integrative curriculum framework in formal pesantren education institutions. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results showed that PAI assessment in formal pesantren institutions, namely in Nurul Jadid Probolinggo Junior High School, not only assesses cognitive aspects, but also affective and spiritual aspects according to pesantren values. Assessment planning starts from formulating objectives, preparing grids, to developing instruments. Assessment implementation is carried out through written tests, observations, and religious practices. Assessment processing includes collecting results, scoring, analyzing, and reporting. This practice combines national formal instruments and typical pesantren methods such as sorogan, bandongan, and worship practices.
