Pengembangan Media Video Pembelajaran Berbasis Kontekstual untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa Materi Perubahan Sosial Budaya Kelas IX di MTS Aswaja Tunggangri

Abstract: This study aims to develop contextual-based learning video media to improve students' conceptual understanding of socio-cultural change material for grade IX at MTS Aswaja Tunggangri. The research method used is the research and development model based on the steps of Borg & Gall, which include needs analysis, design, development, expert validation, field trials, and implementation. The subjects of this study were grade IX students with a total of 30 participants. The results of the study showed that this contextual-based learning video media was declared valid and feasible to use based on the assessment of material and media experts, with an average validation score of 88% (very good category). The field trial showed an increase in students' conceptual understanding, as indicated by the average pretest result of 65.20 increasing to 85.50 in the posttest. This increase shows the effectiveness of using contextual-based video media in helping students understand socio-cultural change material better. In addition, students' responses to the use of video media were very positive, with a satisfaction level of 92%, which reflects that this media is interesting, relevant, and helps students learn independently. This study concludes that contextual-based learning video media is an effective tool to improve students' conceptual understanding in learning. Further research is recommended to develop similar media in other subjects and test its effectiveness in a broader learning context.
